For BMW’s presentation at the World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg, Makom produced an air-supported hall in the shape of a hemisphere from 900 m² of balloon fabric, plus 2,100 m² of PVC prints for the pavilions. In a very short time Makom developed the hall’s technology and a new rail system to pull the skin on and off – so the material underneath could be lit with projections from inside at night.
